Marcia and John Watkins and I checked out the Orangeburg Super Sod Farm this
morning from about 9:30 to 11:30. We saw the following:
Turkey Vulture (4)
American Kestrel (2)
Killdeer (100s)
Upland Sandpiper (2)
Pectoral Sandpiper (10)
Common Snipe (1)
Eastern Phoebe (3)
Horned Lark
N. Rough-winged Swallow (dozens)
Barn Swallow (10)
American Crow (2)
Tufted Titmouse (heard only)
N. Mockingbird (2)
Loggerhead Shrike (3)
E. Starling (too many)
Pine Warbler (2)
Eastern Meadowlark (3)
We saw no plovers or Western Sandpipers, unfortunately. It was windy enough
to make the scope a little unsteady.
