Re: dead crow

The Miami Herald carried a story about this yesterday, as well as the USA
Today. The journalist indicated the possibility of a threat due to the
virus being carried by migrating birds. The story then went on to say that
crows (species not specified) appeared to be the type of bird accused of
causing the problem and that dead crows in various areas were being checked
for this West Nile-type virus. I guess my question is this, when did crows
(other than Fish) begin migrating down the eastern seaboard and why are we
not counting them on our migration counts? <G>

Sounds to this sometimes cynical birder that this is another case of the
media blowing things out of proportion.

Thanks to all who responded to my question about sending my bins off for
repair. They are going out in the mail today!
