The Council Chambers were comfortably filled by the crowd of what was described probably accurately as &#8220;Chapel Hill Liberals.&#8221; Many I recognized were involved in peace activism over the years, in Bill of Rights activism &#8212; in ACLU or other, some were &#8220;Raging Grannies,&#8221; one man read political poetry (corny political poetry but he was loved for the effort).<br \/>\nThere was a big table of hand-outs outside the Chambers most all about Verified Voting efforts and organizations.<\/p>\n<p>One handbill handed to all of us read:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nVERIFY OUR VOTE RALLY<\/p>\n<p>Sunday, December 12th<br \/>\nNoon &#8211; 2 pm (12\/12@12)<br \/>\nNC State Capitol grounds<br \/>\nRaleigh<br \/>\n116 West Jones Street (at the end of Hillsborough Street)<\/p>\n<p>Be part of simultaneous rallies at State Capitols across the country<\/p>\n<p>Speakers:<br \/>\nJoyce McCloy, NC Coallition for Verified Voting<br \/>\nDavid Allen, Black Box Voting<br \/>\nChuck Herrin, Republican computer security analyst<br \/>\nCecil Bothwell, The Progressive Project<br \/>\nand many more including elected officials and musicians<\/p>\n<p>Voices for Verified Voting<br \/>\na coallition of concerned citizens organizing to educate others about election irregularities, and mobilize effective action to ensure transparent, verifiable elections<\/p>\n<p>for more information: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.51capitalmarch.com\/\">http:\/\/www.51capitalmarch.com\/<\/a><br \/>\nto set up a table with information, contact: info@divas4democracy.net<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A note on the crowd.
