Where better for  him to publish an article called<a href=\"http:\/\/tomglocer.com\/blogs\/sample_weblog\/archive\/2006\/12\/12\/142.aspx\"> &#8220;Trust in the Age of Citizen Journalism&#8221;<\/a> than on <a href=\"http:\/\/tomglocer.com\/blogs\/default.aspx\">his blog<\/a>? <\/p>\n<p>The article is the text of a speech Glocer gave at &#8220;Globes Media Conference in Tel Aviv on Monday 11 December 2006.&#8221; About the talk he says: <em>&#8220;It&#8217;s about trust in media today, taking into account the growing<br \/>\npopularity of blogging and all other types of citizen journalism.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Reminds me that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibiblio.org\/pjones\/McL\/Day1McL\/Day1McL-Pages\/Image46.html\">when I met<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lobsangwangyal.com\/\">Lobsang Wangyal<\/a>, the Reuters reporter amongst exiled Tibetans, he was most interesting in talking about his newly formed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tibetanjournalists.org\/\">Association of Tibetan Journalists<\/a>. The Association&#8217;s biggest task, he told me, is preparing citizens to be journalists by educating them about strong and respected news practices &#8212; values, ethics and skills.<\/p>\n<p>Glocer&#8217;s talk via <a href=\"http:\/\/mirrors.ibiblio.org\/pub\/mirrors\/speakers\/gillmor_06\/\">Dan Gillmor<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/citmedia.org\/\">the Center for Citizen Media<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/citmedia.org\/blog\/2006\/12\/13\/trusting-who-exactly\/\">Dan has his reservations about parts of the talk.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tom Glocer is CEO of Reuters and he is also a blogger.
