We can start here if you like. Are we up for being <a href=\"http:\/\/wethemedia.oreilly.com\/\">We, the Media<\/a>?<br \/>\nWhat&#8217;s making me think about this more often and, I hope, more deeply in the last few months are a few local media changes: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wchl1360.com\/index.jsp\">WCHL<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/orangepolitics.org\/2004\/11\/i-want-my-chl\/\">as was noticed on Orange Politics<\/a> went from very very local to mostly syndicated national shows after a visit from a consultant. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heraldsun.com\">The Herald-Sun<\/a>&#8216;s purchase by Paxton and today&#8217;s firing of what <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wral.com\/news\/4043729\/detail.html\">WRAL says is 20% of the Herald-Sun staff including four of the paper&#8217;s senior officers<\/a> (Thanks to Phil Meyer for the alert on that one). Potential changes at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapelhillnews.com\">the Chapel Hill News. <\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailystar.com\/dailystar\/allheadlines\/54932.php\">And nationally Pulitzer may be up for sale.<\/a> With rumors that  McClatchy, owner of the News and Observer and others, may be one of the next on the line.<br \/>\nPhil Meyer&#8217;s new book is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.umsystem.edu\/upress\/fall2004\/meyer.htm\">the Vanishing Newspaper: Saving Journalism in the Information Age<\/a>.
