The awards have been given. And we&#8217;re all heading home.<\/p>\n<p>Among the Balsa Builders, where we spent a lot of time observing the action, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odysseyofthemind.com\/competitions\/wf_competition_scores.php?sch_event_ID=5000&#038;sch_problem=4&#038;sch_div=2&#038;show_breaks=1\">the Middle School teams<\/a> out performed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odysseyofthemind.com\/competitions\/wf_competition_scores.php?sch_event_ID=5000&#038;sch_problem=4&#038;sch_div=3&#038;show_breaks=1\">the High Schools<\/a>. No High School team this year built a structure that held over 1000 pounds &#8212; the best, 980, was achieved by two teams &#8211;, but no less than 5 Middle School teams held over 1000. The top Middle School team held 1220. But that was overshadowed by the performance of a structure build by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odysseyofthemind.com\/competitions\/wf_competition_scores.php?sch_event_ID=5000&#038;sch_problem=4&#038;sch_div=1&#038;show_breaks=1\">Elementary School students<\/a> from Oak Hill Elementary in Herndon, VA which held <strong>1280 pounds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Our buddy team from Guangdong, China finished <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odysseyofthemind.com\/competitions\/wf_competition_scores.php?sch_event_ID=5000&#038;sch_problem=1&#038;sch_div=2&#038;show_breaks=1\">second in the Middle School division<\/a> of the small vehicle problem, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odysseyofthemind.com\/wf2007\/photo_gallery_prob1.php\">Tag &#8216;Em<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And our team from Smith Middle School in Chapel Hill, NC finished <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odysseyofthemind.com\/competitions\/wf_competition_scores.php?sch_event_ID=5000&#038;sch_problem=2&#038;sch_div=2&#038;show_breaks=1\">10th<\/a> in their problem, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odysseyofthemind.com\/wf2007\/photo_gallery_prob2.php\">The Large and Small of It<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re all packing up and heading out.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.odysseyofthemind.com\/materials\/2008problems.php?l=wf2007\"><br \/>\nSynopsis of next year&#8217;s problems<\/a> are already posted.
