[The rumor as <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.newsobserver.com\/orangechat\/index.php?p=17261&#038;more=1&#038;c=1&#038;tb=1&#038;pb=1#more17261\">regards the Chapel Hill News turns out to be true<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.newsobserver.com\/orangechat\/index.php?title=conversation_with_phil_meyer_part_1&#038;more=1&#038;c=1&#038;tb=1&#038;pb=1\">In Part One<\/a>, Phil says: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re looking for a way to do business as you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve always done it, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sorry there isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t any. The world has moved on, and the newspaper industry has awakened to that fact too late.&#8221;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.newsobserver.com\/orangechat\/index.php?title=conversation_with_phil_meyer_part_2&#038;more=1&#038;c=1&#038;tb=1&#038;pb=1\">In Part Two,<\/a> he tells Schultz (and us):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;There will always be somebody to supply the reader the information that he or she needs. It might be something like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raleighchronicle.com\/\">Raleigh Chrionicle<\/a> [sic &#8211; so much for quality editing &#8211; pj], which is growing right in front of your nose.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> Unfortunately, the Raleigh Chronicle isn&#8217;t staying independent. This just in: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Raleigh Chronicle 14.APR.08<br \/>\nRALEIGH &#8211; After serving over a million readers in the Raleigh community, the locally owned Raleigh Chronicle will close on Tuesday, as another newspaper purchases the publication.
