Web sites

Not sure whether it's good or bad: nike.com (http://www.nike.com)
Besides being very aesthetically pleasing, this site is constantly
updated. Everytime I go there it's changed. It's very interactive, but at
the same time, it really doesn't offer any other information except
advertising Nike. And does it really need the publicity? Still, it's easy
to navigate and find out what you want to know. Besides one big
advertisement, it does offer some things of interest including training
tips for athletes. As far as design, I think it's very impressive, but as
far as usefulness, the verdict is still out on that one.

Bad:
UNC-Chapel Hill Web Page (http://www.unc.edu/)
We spoke about this in class, but it's too simple, not that simple is bad,
but I don't think it properly represents the University, design-wise.
Also, it's hard to find some things. For example, recently I was looking
for a campus organization's Web page, and it took me a while to find it.
I think seven categories are a little to broad for an institution such as
this one. There should be easier access to most frequently used pages
such as the class directory, E-mail addresses, plus the search feature, as
we pointed out in class, is really really bad.
