Subject: butterfly and ladybug houses From: "Sunny" <brunner@bellsouth.net> Organization: Date: Fri, 21 Jan 00 10:16:43 Message-ID: <MOD$000120.7912@rec.gardens.ecosystems>
I hope I am posting this question on the correct site.
I've noticed butterfly houses, ladybug houses and mason bee houses in
several stores this year. I've read several articles on the Internet and
these insects are beneficial to my garden, but do butterflies actually live
in these houses and do ladybugs roost in the houses.
I have wood bees drilling holes in my garage, so I think they would probably
use the bee houses.
I also noticed butterfly nectar to entice them to stay in my garden and Eau
de ladybug spray to entice ladybugs to stay.
Are these houses, just a garden decoration or do they actually attract these
insects to stay in my yard?
