The University of California at Davis is our prime
reference for gardening and farming here on the West
Coast. They are IPM oriented and work on ways to reduce
pesticide usage. They have a first rate web page that
is an excellent reference for gardeners and farmers alike.
See http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/
They, along with Oregon State and Washington State
Universities, have just came out with a CD titled,
"The UC Guide to Solving Garden and Landscape Problems."
I bought a copy and it arrived yesterday and I think
that it's great. It is ISBN 1-879906-47-3. I got it from
on-line from http://anrcatalog.ucdavis.edu
I don't know if the content would be appropriate for
other locations but it's the best references I've
seen for the home gardener here on the West Coast.
