I would imagine that it would be a bit like processing seed, a process of
sieving the material a few ttimes to get rid of the bulk of chaff then
winnowing (I think thats the right word) or placing the material in a
shallow wide bowl and tossing it while blowing gently, which blows the chaff
off while the seed falls back in the bowl.
Its a bit tricky, but you gets the hang of it pretty quick.
Some people use fans to provide the wind, makes sense if you have a lot of
seed to process.
