Tricia,

I use ashes from my woodstove for carbon in my compost, but I would hesitate
to use the ashes from a manufactured log. I am not positive of this, but I
would assume there are some strange adhesives in them similar to what is in
the varying kinds of particle board and other compressed wood products. I
would suggest looking on the packaging for a phone number or address and
inquiring what the "ingredients" are.
