You probably are referring to the process of hardening off seedlings and
young
plants before setting them into their permanent place in the garden
after growing them inside during cold weather. Place them outside ( when
the weather has warmed sufficiently) in a protected area so they can get
used to brighter light gradually. Do not put them in bright sunlight
imediately. They might get sunburned! If temperatures threaten to drop
below a safe level, bring them in for the night. It only takes a few
days for them to become accustomed to life in the great outdoors. Good
