The question was asked about composting the leaves
and pods of magnolias. Aside from their slow rate
of decomposition, I'm not aware of any particular
problem. . . I've composted magnolia stuff without
incident

You can rake the material into a pile ad run it over
with a power lawn mower or put the stuff into your
compost bin and work it over with a string edger. The
smaller the peices, the faster the composting process.
