Yes, it smells like mildew, now that you mention it.

But the floor is slate, there is ample ventilation underneath and no
discolouration on other surfaces.

And no moisture on the glass in the morning.

So I suppose it must just be the plants doing their thing. I am
experimenting with closing more or less windows to see what effect that has.
