My brother and I are starting a vegetable garden this year. We have
rototilled a 100 times 100 size area. We went to k-mart and bought some
humus with manure mixture soil to add into the garden. We read that this
will improve plant growth. We want to stay with the organic products if it
is ever possible! We are both new to this hobby and we have many questions
about this garden. Firstly, is there something else we should do to make
sure the soil is at it's best for planting any vegetables? Like I said we
rototiled the soil with the soil mixture that we bought. Secondly, what is
the best top soil to use the is organic? Thirdly, how long should we wait to
plant the vegetables (mostly tomatoes plants and a few eggplants, peppers,
rhubarb) Fourthly, is it better to plant using the raised row beds or just
flat surfacing method? Any tips that I receive would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time. Jeff
