Subject: cedar roof runoff to irrigation? From: "LBurdick" <burdick@attbi.com> Organization: ATT Broadband Date: Tue, 16 Apr 02 03:53:50 Message-ID: <MOD$020413.23591@rec.gardens.ecosystems>
We collect rain for edible plant irrigation from roll roofing on our barn
into a 600 gal. tank and gravity-feed it to our veg gdn.
We're now thinking about a new, separate, system for ornamental, not edible,
plants which would involve collecting rain from a cedar-shingled roof.
I sampled the runoff four years ago when the roof was new -- It was creepily
brown-colored and we decided not to use it. It's quite clear now -- Think
it's safe to use for ornamentals?
