I think a lot of us had problems going 'organic'.
A healthy ecosystem has the ability to correct or control many garden
problems. It is probably the most important and effective
control agent in the garden. When we mess over the ecosystem
of our gardens by using such things as toxic pesticides, we
compromise the ability of the ecosystem to provide these natural controls.
For the most part, control via toxic pesticides is the
remaining control system.
Simply quitting the use of toxic pesticides and throwing the burden of
control onto a damaged ecosystem is not realistic.
We've all killed off something like our parents' orange trees trying
to find ways to work with nature.
