I spoke with NOFA/Mass (Northeast Organic Farming Association) about this
composted garden refuse made by the farmer next door, which he says is
organic, whereas it has been made with suburbian sprayed trees and grass
clippings.
NOFA said that if it has been composted enough (what does this mean?), it
is OK, and the pesticides and other herbicides should be decomposed by the
heating process in the commpost pile.....

Next question: how do I know if it has been composted enough?????

Still puzzled in MA Lisa
