Anyone who is interested in learning about how dangerous fresh chips can
be I suggest this source. This stuff is by one of the finest forest
pathologist and tree biologist in the world and respected world wide.
Give him a chance. I did and now I am able to offer organic tree care
as a service because we have reduced our pest and fungus problems by
95%. Just by following some basic instructions and guide lines. One
being NOT FRESH CHIPS. Yes I have worked long hours doing my homework,
however you will learn so much from his stuff. Printed in many
countries in different languages.
He is a "GENIUS" when it comes to trees!!! And you can take that to the
biological bank and cash it.
Here is his wonderful stuff : http://www.pond.com/~treeman/treeinfo.html
And here are some of his articles thanks to him, Tree Care Industry and
the National Arborist Association along with many people here who have
helped me get this stuff on the web.

I f anyone would like three reasons not to use fresh chips I will
provide them. Nitrogen is not one of them.
