I have a 100 year old sugar maple here in Massachusetts, which seems to be
dripping sap from a high branch. I have never heard of that, and I would
like to know if this is possible. The tree should be dormant by now, and is
not in a great health, butstill breathtakingly beautiful. There seems to be
a branch high up which looks very dark on the outside, and I suspect
somthing is dripping from there. It falls on my car, and I would say that
there are several (less then 10) drops per hour. I have not been able to
see it myself, due to the rarity f the event. There is no ice on the tree,
which would have been an obvious explanation. It is dry and warm here now.
The dripping has started last week.

Is this at all possible? Is this a bad sign? What can I do about it?
