Hi. I'm planning on buying a new lawn mower, and I would really like to try
one that is battery-powered. I'd like to hear from people with experience in
these things. Do they work well? Does the battery charge last as long as the
manufacturers claim? Any recommendations?
I suggest you email me directly at cbergman@iastate.edu. I'll post a summary
on this group in a week or so.
Some details about my personal situation:
My lot is a bit under 1/2 acre. It currently takes me about 2 hours to mow
with my 4hp gas-powered mower. (I suspect that most batteries won't hold out
long enough to mow the whole yard in one swoop. That's OK. I generally do
half the yard at a time.) I don't bag clippings, but I do want the mower to
do a good job mulching the clippings, and even better, mulch leaves in the
fall.
Thanks in advance.
