Maybe we should capitolize our advice, "IGNORE IT; IT WILL GO AWAY!!!" :-)
I think gardeners are in general putterers. We like to putz around in the yard
(when it's not 105 deg!) and we often overdo it. (Ask me- I had one perfectly
lovely water garden. Now I have two and a leaky stream connecting them and it's
work, work, work!)
But to advocate the "do nothing" advice, I had an aphid problem on my water
lilies in 1996 and 1997. Now I have ladybugs and no aphids- at least none that
have come to my attention. I didn't spray chemicals- that would have killed the
aphids, the ladybugs, the waxwings AND possibly the fish. I waited and it paid
off.
