Hi All,
I'm fairly new at vegetable gardening. I know what a ladybug looks like.
I have some bugs that look like ladybugs -- orange -- but do not have the
black markings on the wings. A local farmer/rancher said as long as they
are red they are ladybugs. But in the past, I was led to believe that if
they didn't have the markings, they were not beneficial insects. Perhaps
it's a regional thing. I'm on the California coast, if that matters.
Does anyone know what I am seeing?
Also, are the green bugs that look like ladybugs Japanese beatles?
Thank you very much.
Claire Gilbert
