Yo Kathy:

You don't say where you are writing from but in our area, Washington
state, US, dandelions are one of the first plants to flower, thereby
providing honey bees one of their first sources of both pollen and
nectar. Dandelions, along with other early bloomers such as willlows
and maples, supply the bees a much needed opportunity to build their
food stores which enables them to start raising the brood that will form
the basis of the coming season's worker bees.

Congratulations on your concern for the welfare of your bees. We
operate a hybridizing nursery and we would be out of the seed side of
the business without our bees.
