1200 tons per week is indeed a large volume in anybody's book. We are building
a small system in Mexico to handle 100 tons per week of mortalities and
rendering waste from a layer operation. In this case we will mix the organic
matter with soy meal and extrude it into cattle feed. It will be pathogen
free, odor free and very nutritious for the livestock. It could be made into
hog rations, fish food or even chicken feed just as well.
We could have composted the organics but the facility sells its layer manure to
local farmers and without this component the composting would be difficult.
In the system we use, the mortalities, layer manure and egg waste all become
valuable inputs and are not a disposal problem at all.
If composting is your preferred method of handling this input material, we
would be pleased to offer you solutions based upon our techiques.
