hello everyone

I use the output of my washing machine as grey water to irrigate my
garden, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about what effect the
washing goop I use might have on the soil.

The goop is made from pure soap and washing soda (1 cup washing soda to
1 cake of soap if you're interested, dissolve them together in hot water
and put a cup or two in the wash). I'm not exactly sure what washing
soda is, the stuff I use is called Lectric Soda and looks like clear
crystals. I guess it's a water softener.

Is it hurting our garden?
