The message <MOD$990530.8029@rec.gardens.ecosystems>
from mking@micron.net (Margaret Simms) contains these words:

> How can I get rid of ear wigs. They are eating all of my basil. I've heard that you should "trap" them, but how?

Ear wigs like to spend the day holed up in a shelter, so give them
one, then remove the shelter with occupants :-)
Put a stick or cane in the ground by your plants, and tape a little
cone of folded newspaper on the top, point up, like a rocket. The
cone is the earwig shelter trap, remove and replace with a fresh one
as necessary.
