what kind of project are you doing? There are 2 basic kinds of worms.
manure worms, or red wigglers. they are reddish, or have red stripes.
They live in compost heaps, after they cool down, under leaf mulch, and
in manure piles. They will not live in the soil, unless there is a
tremendous amount of organic matter in it. The other kind is earth worms,
night crawlers is one of those kinds. They are more bluish colored. and
will not live under the conditions that the red wigglers do. I got all
the worms I needed to start a worm box by looking under old piled of
leaves.
