I've read that rainwater contains dissolved nitrogen and nitrogen salts from
the atmosphere.

A friend of ours installed an underground tank, connected all of their
rain gutters to dump into this tank, and then pump the collected rainwater
into a garden watering system. It was kind of pricey but it does a good
job.
