Garden catalogs keep showing up earlier every year. If you're like me,
you've found several catalogs in the mail over the past 6 or 8 weeks. Not
that I need to buy seeds this early, and certainly I don't need to get bare
root plants this early. I notice that some of these early catalogs feature
"gifts for the gardener", so we know what this early catalog trend means.

But the relevant question for this group is "what catalogs do you
especially like?' And I mean this with reference to the kinds of gardening
we discuss here: oranic/IPM, native plantings, recreating ecosystems,
heirloom varieties and that kind of thing. And I don't mind if you want to
talk about edibles or ornamentals, butterflies or birds, seed saving, water
gardens, xeriscaping, seed catalogs or nursery stock, tools...

I"m just wondering what you think are the best sources for the kind of
gardening you do.

Personally, I like the stuff put out by Seed Saver's Exchange. Lots of
interesting (and sometimes kind of bizarre) open pollinated & heirloom
varieties of edible plants.

Regards,
Bill
