TIRUVIRUTTAM
And
THE AUSPICIOUS QUALITIES OF THE LORD (5)
-----

21. Even while in His highest abode, SrIvaikuNtam, the
Lord is deeply in love for being easily available in
this world.

                                  "viNNOrkaL nannIr
Atti anthoopam tarA niRkavE angu Or mAyaiyinAl
Ittiya veNNai toduvuNNap pOndu"

(In SrIvaikuntam, after giving the Lord a holy bath,
the nitya sooris, with the purest and most beautiful
garlands in their hands to adorn Him, are offering a
fragrant incense; during that time, the Lord deceives
them for a moment and comes here to eat the butter in
the homes of cowherd-women.)

22. The Lord has as devotees only those who have the
same thoughts and actions like Himself.

                        "puLLoorum kaLvar
tam pAr akattenRum AdAtana tammil koodAtana"

(The Lord, who is moving on the Garuda vehicle, never
has anything in this world of His, that is
incompatible to Him.) [He does not have anyone and
anything not compatible to Him.]

23. He takes others too in His control, by attracting
their minds through these devotees.

                        "puNdarIkattu ankEzh
vanamOr anaiya kaNNAn kaNNan vAnAdamrum deivattu
inamOr anaiyIrkaLAy"

(You are in a way similar to the nitya sooris living
in the Abode of the Lord, SrI Krishna with His eyes
akin to a lustrous garden full of red lotuses.)

24. He wears the fragrant Tulasi garland only for
their sake.

                      "kaL Urum tuzhAy
koyalvAymalarmEl manattodu ennAmkol em kOl vaLaikkE?"

(The mother of the Lady-love says: "What would happen
to my daughter wearing beautiful bracelets, whose
heart has gone away after the beautiful and fragrant
Tulsi garland adorned by the Lord?")

25. There is none who has escaped from that Tulasi.

"nam kOn ugakkum tuzhAy en ceyyAtu ini nAnilattE?"

(What is not achievable for the Tulasi worn happily by
our Lord?)
