Dear Members, Although this topic is way beyond the scope of things that we normally discuss, imho, this particular topic is an interesting one. Senator Joe Lieberman is an Orthodox Jew. Sometime back, Dr.King a professor at the University of Texas extolled younger generation hindus to take example from Jews. Jews and Hindus have a lot in common. Both Judaism and Hinduism are mother cultures. It is interesting to note that India was the only country that did not persecute the Jewish diaspora. Moreover, the Jews were exemplary in Indian Military Service and a Hindu King in kerala did not fight on their holy day. Senator Lieberman is going to run for president in next year's presidential elections. He will be America's first Jewish presidential candidate. I look up to him as an example for us Orthodox Hindus who can still strive to live up to the ideals of Dharma and Artha in a multicultural and a multireligious society.
