EDU- INTRODUCTION TO 'karu mANikka malai mEal" thiru voi mozhi
8-9.
maNa
vilakku
The proclamation that parAnkusa nAyaki-s wedding
quest is done by the parents/maidens of parAnkusa nAyaki reaches the maiden
friends of parAnkusa nAyaki.
What is the situation of parAnkusa nAyaki at this
juncture?
This is spotted by the friend/thozhi of parAnkusa
nAyaki. The appearane and speech differs and she perceives that parAnkusa nAyaki
in fact has got herself merged with thiruppuliyUr Lord.
This situation is akin to bharathAzhwAn being
termed as "king". The maiden friend decides that this sound of invitation for
the wedding svayamvaram will be death din to parAnkusa nAyaki who will not
tolerate any relatinship with mortals-mAnidavarku enRu
pEachu padil.
Hence, the friend decides to gradually reveal the
fact that AzhwAr has already surrendered herself to the thruppuliyUr Lord.
However, revealing this bluntly would result in retort and
uproar.
Hence, they started thinking aloud regarding the
difference in appearance and _expression_ of AzhwAr. "There appears to be some
relationship between parAnkusa nAyaki and thiruppuliyUr Lord.? is the enquiry by
them in front of thAyAr.
The fact is finally stated that AzhwAr has
submitted herself to that Lord and none else. Hence, please stop seeking
bridegroom for this parAnkusa nAyaki.
"ivaL thAn angEa ananyArhai
AnAL; nEngaL seigiRa ivaRRaith thavirungOL" is the counsel by fellow
maiden/s. This is called "maNa vilakku" in
tamil literature.
Here, Edu's sentence of authority is to be
recalled.
" thiru mandhirathil, thanakkum
piRarkumAi irukkum iruppaik kazhithu ananyArha shEshathvathai sollak
kadavadhiREa"
The soul should be for the Lord alone exclusively.
It should be neither for itself nor for others is the message in a
nutshell.
If there is a maiden she should submit herself for
only one man and when she does so completley and comprehesively, then she is not
for anybody else follows automatically.
"idhil svasvAthantharyamum,
anya-shEshathvamum apurushArtham engiRadhu' . The soul being independent
or submitting to others is explained as contrary to the basic nature of the soul
in this thiru-voi-mozhi.
