AchArya Hrdhayam SUthram 226-3
THE EIGHTH TEN
" Arath thzhuvi en vuyirai
aRavilai seidha naR
sOdhi"
"thalai sirppath thandavadhil
kruthanjgadhA pala pradhupagAramAga vEndhar thalaivan kanyakA dhAnam pOlEa
Arath thazhuvi aRavalai seidha AthmalAbathAlEA athEva viLangip
paNaithu"
The Lord Almighty becomes very happy and shining
on getting the soul -which actually, already belongs to Him - of the AzhwAr. The
sparkle and splendour which adorns the Lord, makes Him multifold - multifarious
in His form. This is what is termed by AzhwAr as
"
Arath thzhuvi en vuyirai aRavilai seidha naR
sOdhi"
AzhwAr recalls the great Grace of the Lord in having getting
thiru-voi-mozhi being sung through him. Again he expresses the gratitude by
submitting his self/soul at the feet of the Lord Almighty, forgetting the
fact that AzhwAr did not submit this earlier on the grounds that this already
belongs to the Lord. However, akin to janakarAjan presenting sEthA pirAtti to
sri rAmA, AzhwAr submitted to the Lord and the Lord accepts this with glee.
Though sEthA pirAtti belongs to the Lord already, sri rAmA
accepts her with happiness and sparkled. Similarly, the Lord Almighty became
brighter and glittered after having accepted Azhwar's AnmA-soul. The Lord became
embedded with splendour and sparkled and multiplied multifold into several
shoulders, several countenances, several divine eyes, several divine feet and
several divine names on having repossessed AzhwAr's AnmA.
pAsuram-s:
"malar adip pOdhugaL en nenjathu
eppOdhum iruthi vaNanga" --7-10-5--> were the emotional outpouring of
AzhwAr being the gratitude for having being made him as a channel for
thiru-voi-mozhi.
"thALgaLai enakkEa thalaith
thalaich sirappath thandha pEArudhavi" 8-1-10; The gratitude is again
expressed in this eighth ten beginning.
"vEandhar thalaivan janaka
rAsan" periAzhwAr thiru mozhi 4-1-2 where sEthA pirAtti was presented to
sri rAmA. Though, sEthA pirAtti incarnated for sri rAmA, sri janaka rAjan
declared her as his daughter-"iyam sEthA mama sudhA"
Similarly, AzhwAr presents His soul to the Lord and on
receiving the Almighty bcomes shining and happy and takes multifarious
forms
"thOLgaL AyirathAi!mudigaL
AyirathAi!thuNaimalar kaNgaL AyirathAi!thALgaL AyirathAi! pEArgaL
AyirathAi!".
The splendour resulting from this submission of the
soul is thus described aptly as:
" Arath thzhuvi en vuyirai
aRavilai seidha naR sOdhi
"
