kaarokkum kaatkarai yennappan kadiyanE (TVM 9.6.10)
After realizing that Sriman Narayanan is the Supreme Being and all the others are His servants, the soul is the path towards
moksham. During that time it is in such a melted state that Perumal Himself enjoys it by a way of drinking it. This was the state of Nammazhwar when singing on Thirukkaatkarai Yennappan. Here is an interesting story below:
Once, a person was very hungry. He reached a place where he saw some food being cooked. He thought of resting for sometime until the cooking gets over. After a while, he lost patience, and hence woke up and sat there for a while. He waited for some more time. Still he could not get the food. Losing his patience further, he stood up and with the intention of approaching the location where food is kept. Similar was the state of Perumal when trying to enjoy Parankusanayaki. He could not wait for long time, and hence got up from His reclining
posture, and finally stood up to go towards Azhwar Thirunagari.
Why should Perumal look for Parankusanayaki in such a hurry? The reason is simple. Azhwar as Parankusanayaki expressed Six Gunas as SriVaishnava Lakshanams: They are
- Ananya Seshatvam - Not sub servant to other devatas
- Ananya Gatitvam - Not surrendering to others
- Ananya Bogyatvam - Not allowing being enjoyed by others
- Samsleshathil tharippu ? Enjoying the company with Perumal
- Visleshathil thariyamai - Cannot bear the separation from Perumal
- Thadhaika Nirvahakatvam ?
Performing all the duties as Perumal?s order
Where did Parankusanayaki exhibit each of these Sirvaishnava Lakshanams? From where did Perumal stand up from reclining posture to go towards Azhwar?s place? Answers to these questions will form the rest of the series.
adiyen,
ramanan
