Srimathe Ramanujayanama:
Adiyen had the opportunity to visit the Divyadesam, Nachiyar Koil at Worayur, a part of township of Tiruchirapalli. I have taken photographs of the Divyadesam, covering all the Sannadhis. Adiyen presenting below an Album of photographs taken at Nachiyar Koil, Worayur. A write-up on the Divyadesam is also attached for those interested to know the Sthalapuranam. It is apt to mention a few lines about Sri Thirupanazhwar here.
Sri Thirupanazhwar's birth place is Worayur. Sri Thirupanazhwar was very fond of sri Ranganathar of Srirangam. He used to sing in praise of Perumal, standing on the banks of South Cauveri River like a Nampaduvan (a person who sings on streets for livelihood). He used to think only Sri Ranganathar and became so much attached to HIM with gtreat bhakthi remembering His glorious deeds and benevolace to Adiyars. This was going on for day after day. One day, Perumal told Sri Lokacharnga Munindrayar, while he was doing kainkarya to Sri Rangananathar, to fetch Thiru Panar on his shoulder to HIS sannadhi as HE was very much pleased by the devotion and love towards HIM by Thiru Panar. Lokacharnga Munui went to the banks of Cauveri and told Sri Panar of the desire of Perumal. But Sri Panar started moving away
stating that he is an untouchable and therefore could not even enter the Temple. However, Thirupanazhwar was taken on the shoulders (see photograph) by Sri Lokacharanga Munindrar as desired by Sri Ranganatha Perumal from the banks of Cauveri river. On seeing the Perumal and Pirati with their divine swaroopa, Thirupanazhwar was enthrolled and with great joy and reverence, composed "Amalanadipiran" Prabaandam starting with the stansa "Amalanathipiran Adiyarku Yennai Aatpadutha Vimalan" and worshiped Perumal from the sacred Feet to Thiru Mugam and with great joy finished the Pasuram with the words "Aranganai Kanda Kangal mattronrinai kanave" (The eyes that saw Arangan will never see any other thing) and fell at the Lotus Feet of Sri Ranganathaswamy.
