tannai soodhittariththu? In the previous paasuram, azhvar rejoiced
thinking about his fortune/greatness.
Immediately the state of the others around him troubled azhvar. These people consider souls/devas
similar to them born from the womb of a mother to be paradeivam (supreme) and
undergo number of hardships. How
can azhvar being an Srivaishnava tolerate the sorrow of the fellow
beings? (thirunindRa pakkam thiruvidhu) The most blessed
object in which piratti resides is the paratattvam. ?sraddhayA dEvO dEvatvamasnutE? (only
due to piratti indicated by the word ?sraddhA? perumal attains the quality of a
deva) ?apAngO bhooyAmsO yadhupari param brahma tatabhoot? The nature of the object doesn?t matter
but wherever the divine grace of piratti falls in full becomes the
sarvEswaran. Sri Parasara bhattar
reiterates the same in his
GunaratnakOsam, ?vEthAnthAs tattvachinthAm murapiturasi yat
pAdhachinhais taranti? (4) (thiRavidhendru) All objects other than self is
under her control. Hence unless she
shows herself it is difficult to visualize by others. Appillai says, ?It is not understandable
by superfluous words or
tactics.? (OrAr) If they are intelligent they can realize
this tattva but there is no sign of any intellect in
them. (karunindRa) Similar to them devas like Indra
take birth from a womb (?vushasi rOdha asinjat? declare the
Vedas) (karunindRa kallArkku vuraippar) These people preach to stupid people,
ignorant of Vedas just like them, about the supremacy of the
devas. What are they really trying to do? Azhvar
explains; (thiruvirundha mArvan siridharan) In practice, an insect that doesn?t even
know the smell of a mango (mAmbhazham) is named as ?mAmbhazhavunni?. Similarly the devas who do not have any
sort of relationship with piratti (the divine consort) are called as ?sriman? by
their bhakthas. Whereas in the case
of perumal, piratti resides always in his chest ?agalagillEn eraiyum? and hence
he is called as ?sireedharan?. The
Vishnu sahasranAmam reiterates the same with 12 divine
names, Srivatsa: SrivAsa: Sripathi: SrimadhAm vara:
