The similarities

The "sem-pon sei
koil" thiurmozhi throws up three similarities with
thiruvoimozhi.
We have already seen thiDa visumbu and asaivaRum
amarargaL.
In thiru-voi-mozhi 4-6 the eighth pAsuram
prescribes that one should seek refuge in the Lord with the help of those
proficient in vEdhAs. Swami nampiLLai has explained this, as those who realize
that He is the means and the end are "vEdham
vallArgaL"
"vEdham vallArgaLaik
koNDu viNNoAr perumAn thiruppAdham paNindhu..."
4-6-8
The same theme is voiced
here
as theLindha nAn
maRaiyOAr.
The vEdhic teachings are multifarious and
appears contradictory. One has to rise above this maze and realize that He is
the saviour at all times with single minded steadfastness. This undiluted
confidence and conviction in Him is attained by only those clear minds and they
are termed as 'theLindha nAn
maRaiyOAr"
sri periyavAchAn piLLai's commentary aptly
throws light on this aspect.
"oru kAl 'sarvEswaran
rakshagan' enRirA, maRRoru pOdhu "vERonRu rakshagam" enRirukkai anRikkEa, enRum
okka "sarvEswaran namakku rakshagan" enRu
theLindhirukkum....."
Unlike those , who sometimes consider the
Lord Almgithy as the saviour and sometimes feel that something else is the
saviour, those who understand that He is the saviour at all times----theLindha.
