Harder than steel; Bitter
than the bells; Firey Than the Fire
Oh! What a
Pity?
Thirumangai Mannan's desire for
ThiruppullANi EmperumAn did not fructify forthwith. The desire and longiness
culminated into desperation. A slightest sound made her life
miserable.
The birds 'anRil' came forth and
squeaked. The sound sounded miserable. What a situation? Already parkala nAyaki
is suffering from separation and the bird's call is harder than the arrows of
steels. This is analogous to thieves occupying the 'thaNNEr pandal meant for
thirsty public. Kaliyan had resorted to a grove in search of peace and even here
the birds noise pierce her ears adding insult to injury.
The mild sound of the bells ,emanating
from the neck of the cattles, throngs more than that of the thunder. Indeed
terrible.
This is ceaseless and is more fiery than
the fire.
This is the situation of Thirumangai
Mannan. A commiserative situation.
He recalls several precedences where the
Lord had indeed rescued and helped.
The Almighty had rescued the 4 vEdhams in
the form of swan. He had retrieved the land from mAhAbali for the sake of
indhran. He had vanquished lankA for the sake of pirATTi. He had killed the
asuran hiranyan. He had demolished the troubling elepahant
kuvalaiyApETam.
All these deeds are recalled as a method
of sustaining oneself even in the pangs of msiery.
this is all in the 4th Thriumozhi of the
ninth ten.
