harE krShNa! AzhwArgaL thiruvadigaLE sharaNam!

Dear Devotee Sri Pattangi,

Kindly accept my humble obiescances.

The quote which I wrote is not by me, but by lord krShNa Himself. It is told to his beloved son, udDhava. It is stated in shrImadhBhAgavatham 11.14.19 (Kindly refer the link: http://srimadbhagavatam.com/11/14/19/en).

Actually what you told is very right Sri Pattangi Prabhu. BhAgavatha apachAram is very greatest offense or sin. But the question is, when that sinful person can realize that this is the most sinful activity? The answer is that once he becomes a devotee of lord krShNa, he will realize that he had committed a greatest sin. And hence lord krShNa guides that person to go and beg for forgiveness with his old devotee.

Hence, lord krShNa's statement cannot have some exceptions. Its all inter-linked and only with the mercy of lord krShNa one gets the guidance as stated in BhagavadhgItha:

sarvasya cāhaḿ hṛdi sanniviṣṭo
mattaḥ smṛtir jñānam apohanaḿ ca
vedaiś ca sarvair aham eva vedyo
vedānta-kṛd veda-vid eva cāham
- BhagavadhgIthA 15.15 (http://bhagavadgitaasitis.com/15/15/en)

Translation: I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas, I am to be known. Indeed, I am the compiler of Vedānta, and I am the knower of the Vedas.

So to ask for forgiveness with an offended devotee, lord krShNa gives the knowledge. So to gain that kind of superior knowledge, one has to surrender to lord krShNa (and to his forms), as stated in BhagavadhgIthA:

ye yathā māḿ prapadyante
tāḿs tathaiva bhajāmy aham
mama vartmānuvartante
manuṣyāḥ pārtha sarvaśaḥ
- BhagavadhgIthA 4.11 ( http://bhagavadgitaasitis.com/4/11/en)

Translation: As all surrender unto Me, I reward them accordingly. Everyone follows My path in all respects, O son of prThA.

Hope this clears that lord krShNa himself leads even for asking forgiveness of his devotees.

Thanks for raising a conversation on the divine topics. I always love my brothers and sisters (vaiShNavAs), who raise topics on lord krShNa (and His forms of course).
