Subject: [Oppiliappan] Re: Bhattar Dear Sri Padmanabhan and Sri Sudarshan Swamins, The almost same question and answer dialog as in Thiruppavai pasuram 25 is given in Periya Thirumozhi (pasuram 5-10-7) vyakhyanam. Bhattar is quoted as saying "avarkaLukku mulai suravA ninRathAkil ivan anjA ninRAnAkil umakku ivvArAycchi enthAn?" I think the use of the word "ArAycchi" here rather than the word "sEtham" perhaps makes it clear what Bhattar's intent is. It appears that Bhattar is pointing out that there is no need to do intense research on who Krishna's true mother was, who gave milk to Him and why, etc. It is best to simply enjoy the Lord's acts as explained by Azhvars and Acharyas. You can see the translation of the whole dialog between Nanjeeyar (who asked the question) and Bhattar at http://www.acharya.org/articles/aditlooa/aditlooa068.html adiyEn madhurakavi dAsan --- Padmanabhan <aazhwar@xxxxxxxx> wrote: > Dear SwAmi, > > Usually sri bhattar reply will be in a manner where the > essence of the doubt is clarified precisely. > > For example, when somebody asked in the context of the > thiru-vioi-mozhip pAsuram "AnAllan, pen allan", What is > the gender of the Lord then? kindly refer to EDu for > thiru-voi-mozhi pAsuram 2-5-10; > > sri bhattar incisively clarified that He is the supreme > purushothaman the paramAthmA in contrast to the > jEvAthmAs. > > However, here instead of such repliy, the reply is" How > are you the loser?"
