Srimate Ramanujaya Namaha:
Azwar Thiruvadigale Sharanam.

Respected SriVaishnavas,

The Subject of this mail immediately brings to the mind our beloved Lord Rama who was none other than Sriman Narayana. This mail is also about Rama the incarnation of Sriman Narayana. However the reference here is not to Dasaratha-Nandana Ram, but to Jamadagni-Nandana Ram better known to us as Bhagwan Parasuramar.

Yesterday while thinking about mundane matters my mind suddenly turned to the Pitru-Bhakti of Bhagavan Parasuramar. On his father Maharishi Jamadagni's command, Parasuramar undertook the unbelivable act of taking the life of his own mother. The details of this incident including the reason for the command from Sage Jamadagni are well known to us all and I would not repeat it here. Greatly pleased by the devotion to his father, Jamadagni Rishi offered a boon to Parasuramar who promptly requested that his mother be brought back to life.

The intention of this mail is not to show-off my knowledge (which anyway is negligible) about our Sanathana Dharma, but to start of a series of mails which would enrich Adiyen's knowledge about our Sampradayam.

Can the SriVaishnava vidhwans who are subscribed to this mail list, provide more information on what the Azwars have said about the Parasurama Avataram? Also what are the DivyaDesam's associated with Bhagavan Parasuramar?

DasaDasoham,

Kannan

PS: Adiyen is an infant in the SriVaishanva sampradayam and requests the Sampradaya elders to forgive any mistake in the mail.
