Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha
Dear bhagavatas,
Adiyen would like to make a small clarification. It is true that christian
missionaries are becoming more powerful each day but that doesnt give us any
room for sacrificing our customs. Buddhism and Jainism placed their foot
first in India but couldnt sustain for long. But our Vaishanvism has
sustained without any difficulty for long due to the prime principle of
following our poorvacharyas and the norms laid down by them. "pessittre
pesalallal" (repeat what has been told earlier) is the credit given to our
azhvars and acharyas. So it is adiyen's humble opinion that whatever we do
should be only according to the norms laid by our acharyas "rAmAnujArya
divyAgyA varthathAm abhi varthathAm". There were many sAthAdha
Srivaishnavas in the ghosti of Swamy emperumAnAr but never did they go
against the regular customs. Moreover emperumAnAr himself has never tried
to take the role of a priest/archakar. Surely he would have cherished to do
thiruvaradhanam to namperumal which he never did since swamy respected the
sastras/panchratra agamas which gave only specific brahmins who have
attained deeksha to perform the archaka kainkaryam. So there is no question
for us to argue whether anyone can become priest or why this caste
difference is supported etc. It is emperuman's thiruvullam to have placed
each one of us in different positions and it is fare to be happy with what
we have got and involve ourselves in bhagavat/bhagavata kainkaryams. Just
debating on these issues will never work. Let us all sincerely pray to the
divine feet of swamy emperumanar and the divine couples to uplift the
Srivaishnava community/Hinduism.
Let us spend our valuable time in learning and spreading more valuable
informations from the treasures of our poorvacharyas.
Azhvar emperumAnAr Jeeyer thiruvadigalE sharaNam
