Book on judicial solutions to temple disputes
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI NOV. 15. Speakers, at a function here on Friday, called upon people to
rise
above differences of religion and caste and lead a life based on the principle
of humanism.
Hindu philosophy, which was ever-relevant, stood for equal treatment of the
people, the speakers said.
P.R. Gokulakrishnan, former Chief Justice, said the country would be free of
problems if the
people followed the essential features of the Hindu philosophy.
Melkote Yathiraja Sampath Kumara Ramanuja Jeer, who released an English
publication
on judicial solutions to temple disputes, said people should preserve the
ancient Hindu culture.
Mr. Gokulakrishnan received the first copy. Kundrakudi Ponnambala Adigal, who
released
a Tamil publication, said scriptures of Saivism and Vaishnavism contained lofty
principles.
The former Supreme Court judge, K. Venkataswami, commended the author, T.S.
Ramaswamy,
for his works.
The Madras High Court judge, Prabha Sridevan; the president, Madras Bar
Association,
R. Gandhi and the head, Vaishnavism department, Madras University, V.K.S.N.
Raghavan,
and the professor, Vaishnavism department, M.A.Venkatakrishnan, spoke on the
