Dear BhAgavatas,

I don't think it is necessary to try to make such
analysis. Even zoologically it is agreed that animals
have evolved. So why talk about it from our time's
reference.

For example, it is said that Gajendra and the crocodile
fougt for 1000 years - this would also be an
impossibility from today's knowledge. Who knows what
changes that both animals as well as time itself have
undergone?

Instead, I think we should try to understand what the
message that this parable is teaching us (and
importantly inculcates in young minds as this story
is told to children).
