In the introductory email, we saw about the sutram of Nayanar and the names of people related to the corresponding kaimkaryams in Koil, Thirumali and Perumal Koil. Today, adIyEn starts with the first one, Pushpa Madapam. With Srirangam as the root of our sampradayam, what would have been the reason for Nayanar to choose ThiruVenkadam at the first place? Here is one of the answers we can think about. Normally when we give an exam, it is a general psychology to answer easy queries and start concentrating on tough ones after that, so that we can be assured of full points on the easier ones. Similarly, in our sampradayam, when we talk about Koil, Thirumalai and Perumal koil, it is very easier for one to approach ThiruVenkadamudayan and drift slowly towards Kachi and Srirangam. He has made Himself like that by making sure that both nityasuris and badhatmas can worship Him easily at any point of time. Known as Venkatadri in this yuga, it is the abode of ThiruVenkadamudayan. His very name says that He is the one who burns off all the karmas of a soul. He is the one who directly descended from Paramapadam, before going to Srirangam and relaxing in reclining posture. There are a few interesting references that our Azhwars and Acharyas have made, and let us see why they called this place as Pushpa Mandapam. Sindhu Poo Magizhum ThiruVenkadam In the third ten sets of pasuram in Thiruvaymozhi, Nammazhwar has sung on ThiruVenkatamudayan, requesting for nitya kaimkaryam. In this ten, he says that nityasuris have done kaimkaryam to this perumal with pushpam. With the hurry and excitement to do kaimkaryam, nityasuris used to rush towards this Perumal with hands full of flowers. By the time they arrive close to the perumal, due to the excitement of darshan of perumal, they will unknowingly drop few flowers on the hill. Immediately after falling on the sand where ThiruVenkadamudayan lives, flowers will start to feel the happiness. That is the kind of excitement a flower gets when it reaches ThiruVenkadamudayan?s sannidhi. Sumandhu mAmalar ? saman kol vEdu tharum thadan kundramE People who want to do kaimkaryam bring all the flowers to offer at the feet of ThiruVenkadamudayan. He in turn takes on the sumai of those people. That sumai refers to loads and loads of the karma that the souls have brought along with the flowers. By doing so, He makes sure that the serving souls get the sAmya nilai of moksham. Can anyone get a better deal than this one in this world? What exactly is the kind of flower that one needs to offer Him to get this deal? Who offered that? How is that quantified? Let us look into the answers to these questions in following postings. aDiyEn, ramanan --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Address AutoComplete - You start. We finish.
