dear bhAgavathAs,
In this decade of thiruvAymozhi, just as samsAris consider that
everyone in this world enjoy material things similar to themselves,
AzhvAr thinks of all the things in the world as being suffering from
the seperation (vislEsha) from emperumAn just as He is troubled by
the separation from the Lord. He addresses the stork (naarai), the
anril bird (anril patchi), sea, wind, moon etc, and thinks that their
properties are not because they are natural to them, but are because
of their separation of the Lord, and he feels pity for them! He
thinks of each one of them having the same properties as himself, and
asks "Did you also get unhappiness because you were desirous of
the Lord and His things, and you did not get it?". Thus, in this
thiruvAymozhi, AzhvAr brings out one guNa of the Lord known as
unmAtAvahatvam - the property of overhelming the minds of His
devotees (pichchERap paNNumavan).

nammAzhvAr - who has the state of being in sadness and crying because
the Lord, whose natural svabhAvam is to be available to His devotees,
was not appearing in front of nammAzhvAr, embraces the things of
this world and considers them to be his fellow sufferers, will bless
those who surrender to him.
The Lord who has qualities like superiority, the quality of mixing
just like water with his devotees and beauty is present in archa form
in various divyadEsams so that those who were born later do not lose
Him. Of such divyadEsams, one of the best is thiru-k-kuRungudi.
Here, nammAzvhAr did not get the complete anubhavam of the Lord, and
because of that his mind becomes overwhelmed. He then talks about
stork, anril bird, sea, smell, sky, moon, darkness, lamp as being
suffering just as himself, and sings about them in this thiruvAimozhi
vaayum thirai ugaLum. This AzhvAr, who once suffered from separation
from the Lord, will not allow the devotees to attain the same state
of separation.
