 Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha

Dear Bhagavatas,

I have a question about attending Taddinam / Masikam's. A good
friend of mine lost his beloved mother sometime ago and I have been
invited for her Masikam's which I accepted it as a honor and served
with all my respects twice in the past 3 months for her and enjoyed a
great preeti Bhoj. But my family back in India advised me not to do
so since attending such ceremonies in the past by my father, grand
father and so on...have not been good to us and my father (Expired)
usually didn't attended such ceremonies and when he did he never ate
at the family's house who lost their loved one's. I was not aware of
this and I don't know what I can do now to purify myself for an act I
committed unknowingly but did so sincerely with my heart and soul
into it.

I am a Bramhachari, never married.

Can someone be kind and courteous to help me out and give me some
advice for which I shall be very very grateful.

-- Why some people can attend and others cannot.

-- Why attending such ceremonies are harmless to some and harmful
to others.

-- I was invited in the past to attend 12th day or one year
anniversary or in between for monthly Masikam's but I always
excused myself with an apology but later regretted sadly to my
decision.

With Respects,

Ramanujadasa Chary
