Dear Sriman Mukundan, Nice to see the mail. Actually many pASurams were quoted to support sAttvika ahankAram. But I doubt whether pUrvAchAryas used that particular word for such occasions. Parasara Bhattar, in the interpretation of the name SishtEshta:, means Sishta (good) people as those having SEshatva gnAnam. Ohters like kamsa etc. are not Sishtas, though they are also 100% SEsha to the Lord. He quotes from scriptures the following words about the knowledgeable (vipras): sattvastha: nirahankAra: ---- Those knowledgeable people, who are in the mode of meaningful existence (akArArthAyaiva svam -- Thirumantram), do not have any ahankAram. Hence pUrvAchAryas do not use the word "sAttvika ahankAram". dAsan Vishnu --- In ramanuja@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Pattangi <danp@xxxx> wrote: > sri: > > It is really heartening to see many devotees interested in discussing these issues. > > It is good to discuss, enquire and seek knowledge. > > If you are not sure, then please ask a as a question?
